reading yr prose about snow & the pigeons -- you mentioned Tipp-Ex, something i had forgotten about -- i had to conjure it at some time or another, in the States the dominant brand is White-Out, or at least it used to be.

an old punk-rock comic i read one time made a good gag out of it (Visine is a brand of eye-drops to clear red eyes)

the comic sed:

"Fuck Visine, go straight for the White-Out! "

i've never forgotten that.
